Iranˈs New Envoy Presents His Credentials To Serbian President
Belgrade, June 12, IRNA – Iranˈs new Ambassador to Belgrade, Majid Fahimpour, during a meeting on Tuesday, presented his credentials to Serbian President, Tomislav Nikolic.
In the meeting, Nikolic expressed hope that the new ambassadorˈs tenure would lead to further expansion of Tehran-Belgrade ties.
He appreciated Iran for refusing to recognize Kosovoˈs self-declared independence.
Fahimpour, for his part, conveyed warm greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to President Nikolic.
Fahimpour stressed the role of Serbia in promoting security and stability in Balkan region, calling for expansion of Iranˈs ties with Serbia in such areas as economy and culture.
He hoped that holding the 14th meeting of Tehran-Belgrade joint economic commission and signing of a three-year cultural cooperation in the current year would serve to improve cooperation and good relations between the two countries./end
