Iranˈs Candidacy For UNHRC Chair, Media Warfare

New York, July 13, IRNA – Iranˈs United Nations mission announced Friday that recent reports on Tehranˈs candidacy for the UN Human Rights Council chair was a media warfare triggered by certain western states. The media section of Iranˈs UN mission, in a statement, expressed regret over efforts of certain western states that have used international media to target independent countries. Raising the issue of Iranˈs candidacy for a chair at the 47-member body was a pre-planned scenario made by the US and the Zionist regime, said the statement. Rejecting the report, it regretted that certain western media have used an out of the question issue to prepare the ground for making disinformation by representatives of the US and Zionist regime to the UN against Iran.
