Tanzanian Scholar Praises Islamic Iranˈs Unifying Role
Tehran, Sept 10, IRNA – The representative of Tanzanian Muslims at the International Conference of Islamic Scholars to Support the Palestinian Resistance paid tribute to Iranˈs defending the rights of Palestinian nation and contributing to the solidarity of the Muslim ummah.
Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the conference, Sheikh Mahbub Jafar Samji said, 'Iran is the only country that seriously and effectively works for the solidarity of Muslims and is drafting an organized strategy to defend Islam and combat its enemies.'
Sheikh Samji who presented his research paper to the Tehran conference on the subject of Zionism, Takfiries and Extremism, added, 'Such conferences are significant and show that we can adopt our strategy to counter the enemies, particular the Zionist regime.'
Expressing his displeasure over lack of a well-defined strategy to respond to enemy threats, the scholar expressed his disapproval over Islamic governments' silence and inaction regarding atrocities of the Israeli regime against Palestinians.
Also pouring contempt on the brutal activities of the ISIL terrorist group (or Daesh), Sheikh Samji said: Enemies of Islam have recognized that they can harm Muslims only through wedging discord and division among our ranks.
He said that anti-Islam western circles attempt to propagate terrorism under the guise of Islam and Islamic State, so that Muslims will kill each other. 'In fact, Daesh is the manifestation of such divisive and destructive policy of the US and Zionists.'
'Muslims are a single ummah,' urged the African scholar, 'Shiites and Sunnis should appreciate the fact that their division will only benefit enemies of Islam.'
In addition to Iran, Islamic scholars from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, India, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania and Turkey are attending the two-day conference which opened on Tuesday./end
