Islamic states urged to depict true image of Islam

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA – Sudanese deputy Information Minister Abdolmajed Haroun Abdolmajed called for media convergence within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to depict the true image of Islam. In an exclusive interview with IRNA on the sidelines of the 10th Islamic Conference of Information Ministers (ICIM) experts meeting here on Monday, he pointed to the importance of the ongoing event and urged Islamic countries media to try to foil the attempts of Western media to tarnish the image of Islam. He further urged participating countries in the meeting to focus on ways of fostering Islamic unity and principles of true Islam like moderataion, peace, brotherhood and firendly co-existance./end
