China will promote regional cooperation in Eurasia - state councilor

XIAN (China), September 24. /TASS/. China will contribute to boosting development of regional economic cooperation in Eurasia, Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong said on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the Eurasian Economic Forum in the north-western city of Xian. "We need to speed up the pace of promoting regional cooperation. We will jointly develop new ideas to facilitate new sources of cooperation and create more favorable conditions for expanding the volume of trade and investment," he said. "We are ready to fulfill multi-party cooperation projects. Such international economic corridors as the new Eurasian continental bridge, corridors China-Mongolia-Russia, China - Central Asia, China-Pakistan, China-India-Myanmar, are important for expanding partnership. The Chinese side is ready to promote these projects together with Eurasian countries," Wang added. Another important area of cooperation is "forming the common transport infrastructure," the Chinese state councilor noted. The Eurasian Economic Forum is held in Xian for the 10th time with support of secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Read more
