Turkish Stream fully meets Turkey’s interests in terms of gas supplies - Russian Energy Minister

MOSCOW, July 26. /TASS/. The Turkish Stream gas pipeline project fully meets Turkey’s interests; implementation of this project will make gas supplies more reliable and beneficial, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said after the meeting with Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci. Energy is the key area of bilateral cooperation and Russia is ready to resume talks on joint projects in this sphere, Novak said. "The Turkish Stream is fully in line with Turkey’s interest; implementation of this project will make gas supplies to this country more reliable and beneficial," he added. Resumption of activities of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was also discussed at the meeting. The next meeting of the commission is scheduled to be held in October 2016 in Istanbul. Read more
