Thai PM:Zero casualty during festivals is more satisfied

BANGKOK, January 3 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha says that reduced road accidents and casualties during recent New Year celebrations were good but it should be more satisfied if there would have zero casualty during festivals in the country in the future. The prime minister made the remarks on January 3 after he was reported on road accidents and casualties nationwide during the recent New Year celebrations, urging the public to pay attention to traffic rules and laws throughout the year, not just during festivals. "Most road accidents during recent New Year celebrations were slated on motorways and were reported to have been caused by drunk driving. So, all people should be aware and mindful of observing the traffic rules and laws. I'd like to see zero road accident and less casualty during this year's Songkran Festival in April. No road accidents and casualties throughout the year are desirable", the Thai premier told journalists. The prime minister, however, expressed his satisfaction with no violent incidents during the recent New Year Festival nationwide, extending his thankfulness to all security officers and civilian volunteers who helped take care of the situation.
