GCC Sec Gen congratulates Shaikha Hessa bint Ali

Riyadh, July 1 (BNA):  Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), sent a cable of congratulations to Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa on her election as Second Vice-Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) during the 68th session held in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

The Secretary General emphasised that this accomplishment stands as a source of pride for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, reflecting the distinguished status achieved by Gulf talent, particularly Bahraini women, who have consistently demonstrated their capabilities across various international platforms.

He further commended the pioneering role of Bahraini women in the fields of science and technology, a role made possible through the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

This support has empowered Bahraini women to make meaningful contributions to the sustainable development process and to strengthen their presence in regional and international leadership arenas, Albudaiwi added.
