Young People in DPRK Volunteer to Work in Forefronts of Socialist Construction
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- More than 120 young people in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK have volunteered to work in the forefronts of socialist construction.
Dozens of young people in Sunchon, Kaechon and Tokchon cities and Pukchang County volunteered to work at coal mines with their resolution to become young innovators and heroes.
Young people in Anju City and Taedong, Sinyang, Jungsan and Unsan counties volunteered for construction brigades and raw materials bases in their areas.
Among the volunteers are young people in Yangdok and Mundok counties who volunteered to work at the youth workteam for maintaining ridge ways, the workteam for repairing and maintaining express highways and the county goat farm.
A meeting to congratulate the volunteers was held in Phyongsong City on July 1.
Present there were Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and young people.
Certificates were awarded to the volunteers and a congratulatory address and speeches were made at the meeting.
After a congratulatory performance, young people in the city warmly saw off the volunteers leaving for the spots with the enthusiasm to become pioneers of miracles and feats in the worthwhile struggle for socialist construction. -0-
