Remodeled Hamhung Grand Theatre Opens
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The Hamhung Grand Theatre was remodeled in South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.
The grand theatre with a total floor space of tens of thousands of square meters has all necessary conditions including a thousand-seat auditorium, stage, acoustic and lighting equipment and training and make-up rooms.
The grand theatre successfully remodeled in keeping with the modern tastes and architectural requirements makes it possible to implement the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea to provide the people with a more civilized cultural and emotional life base and to make the people in South Hamgyong Province fully lead a happy life as creators and enjoyers of socialist culture.
Present at the opening ceremony of the theatre held on the spot were officials in South Hamgyong Province and relevant fields, creators, artistes and working people in the province.
Pak Hyon Chol, chairman of the provincial people's committee, made an opening address.
At the end of the ceremony the participants enjoyed an art performance given by artistes of the provincial art troupe and members of the provincial-level art groups. -0-
