Brazil Beat Japan to Reach FIFA World Cup Round of 16

      Riyadh, June 30, 2026, SPA -- Brazil advanced to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 after beating Japan 2-1 in a thrilling Round of 32 match at Houston Stadium yesterday.
   Japan took the lead in the 29th minute through Kaishu Sano before Casemiro equalized for Brazil in the 56th minute. Gabriel Martinelli then scored the winning goal in the 90+5th minute to send Brazil into the Round of 16.
   With the victory, Brazil will face the winner of tomorrow's Round of 32 match between Côte d'Ivoire and Norway, while Japan exited the tournament in the Round of 32.
