Anniversary of Victorious Sandinist People's Revolution Celebrated in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The Nicaraguan embassy here hosted an event at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on Friday to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the victorious Sandinist people's revolution.
Present there on invitation were Jong Tong Hak, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, officials concerned and members of the diplomatic corps here.
Nicaraguan Ambassador Manuel Modesto Munguia Martinez was on hand.
Speeches were made at the event.
The ambassador referred to the feats performed by the Sandinist National Liberation Front and the fighters in the resistance struggle in overthrowing the pro-U.S. dictatorial regime and opening the road to the building of a new free, equal society.
He expressed the stand to strengthen and develop friendly relations with other countries in the efforts to build a free and righteous society.
Jong Tong Hak referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il assisted materially and morally the Sandinist people's revolution and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is paying close attention to developing the ties between the two countries.
He wished the Nicaraguan people success in their efforts to defend the sovereignty of the country and achieve the socio-economic development.
