OEC-Cloudwise Partnership Drives AI-Powered Creative Content Development In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is set to accelerate the growth of its creative industry through the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), following a strategic collaboration between the Orange Economy Consortium (OEC) and Cloudwise (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (Cloudwise) to develop AI-powered creative content.

OEC chairman Kamil Othman stated that the partnership aims to integrate AI technology with publishing, research, intellectual property (IP) development and digital content creation, supporting Malaysia’s aspiration to become a regional digital creative economy hub in line with the nation’s development agenda towards 2030.

“Malaysia is now at a pivotal stage in transforming its creative industry from a traditional entertainment sector into a high-value economic ecosystem where creativity, culture, technology and intellectual property become new engines of economic growth,” he said in a statement issued by the National Book Development Foundation (YPBN) on Monday.

Earlier, Kamil held a meeting with Cloudwise International Business Group chief executive officer Daisy Zhang, alongside YPBN chairman Hasan Hamzah, Cloudwise Southeast Asia vice-president Lim Fang How and Cloudwise Malaysia sales director Zaki Mohd Ikram.

According to Kamil, the Orange Economy concept represented an evolution of the creative economy by encompassing the entire industry value chain, from idea creation and content development to publishing, technology adoption, digital distribution and international commercialisation.

To support this development, he said Cloudwise would contribute its expertise in industrial AI infrastructure, intelligent systems monitoring and digital operations to strengthen OEC’s content development initiatives.

Kamil also emphasised that the approach would create new economic opportunities for companies and industry players while enabling young people to generate income by leveraging their creativity through digital technology and AI.

“AI should be regarded as a tool to improve productivity and efficiency in content development rather than replace the imagination, culture and human thinking that underpin every creative work.

“It can help produce synopses, storyboards, concept visuals and early-stage prototypes within a short period, but the true value of any creative work will always depend on the ideas, experiences, cultural perspectives and narratives created by people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Daisy said Cloudwise was honoured to collaborate with OEC in supporting the digital transformation of Malaysia's creative industry.

She said the company would provide expertise in industrial AI solutions, digital infrastructure and intelligent operational capabilities to ensure the sustainable and resilient development of OEC's technology platform.

“Cloudwise is a global enterprise AI solutions provider with expertise in digital infrastructure monitoring, AIOps and IT operations management.

“The company is recognised among the Forbes China Top 50 Technology Companies and the Hurun Global Unicorn List 2024,” she said.
