Successes Made in Educational Sector of DPRK

 Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- The educational sector of the DPRK is taking practical measures to attain a new educational goal, according to Rodong Sinmun.
The Ministry of Education has directed efforts to ensuring that officials and educators in the education sector grasp the new curriculum and make preparations for its implementation.
Cities and counties have conducted short courses for educators. The ministry makes preparations for a short course for relevant officials in provinces, cities and counties.
Teacher training colleges assessed the practical ability for teaching majors so that graduates can master the contents of teaching materials and the teaching methods according to the new educational programme.
Universities across the country strive to consolidate and further develop the successes achieved in improving the educational structure last year and raise the contents and methods of education to a higher level.
The ministry is intensifying the operation to put the overall education on a higher level through the work to narrow the gaps between Pyongyang and regions and between towns and countryside in educational level.
The field of general education is pushing ahead with the work to create and introduce educational methods in conformity with the age and psychological characteristics of schoolchildren, and universities are encouraging all teachers to improve their practical abilities and direct their efforts to making teaching programs. -0-
