Sadyr Zhaparov shows Changpeng Zhao Issyk-Kul’s winter tourism potential

Bishkek, Feb. 7, 2026. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov introduced Changpeng Zhao, founder of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, to the country’s tourism opportunities during a working visit to the Issyk-Kul region on February 7.

During a joint ski slope tour and inspection of infrastructure at the Karakol ski resort, President Zhaparov highlighted the region’s tourism potential.

He emphasized that the development of ski clusters is a strategic priority capable of transforming the Issyk-Kul region into an international tourism hub, pointing in particular to the ongoing construction of the Ala-Too Resort cluster. Sadyr Zhaparov and Changpeng Zhao visited one of the highest points of the complex, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Changpeng Zhao praised the quality of the snow cover and the level of service, noting that the region has every opportunity to compete with leading European resorts.

The visit concluded with an informal tea meeting, during which President Sadyr Zhaparov and Changpeng Zhao continued discussing infrastructure and investment projects.
