Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations took place in Pyongyang on Feb. 15 to celebrate the 84th birth anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.
Attending it were students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Chilgol Revolutionary School, representatives of the KCU organizations in all provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and pupils to be admitted to the KCU.
Present there on invitation were Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Sun, department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials of the youth league and persons of merit and labor innovators in Pyongyang.
Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, in his report noted that Kim Jong Il formed the group for the study of the biography of General Kim Il Sung in his teens and led the schoolchildren to study his revolutionary history and become young revolutionaries holding their motherland dear.
He added that the history of noble love for the rising generation is being steadily carried forward by the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.
He stressed that all the KCU members should not forget that our country is strong and there are the hope and bright future of the new generation as they are led by Kim Jong Un and prepare themselves to be the true sons and daughters who trust and follow only Kim Jong Un.
An admission ceremony of the KCU took place at the meeting.
Led by Kim Su Kil, the pupils joining the KCU took an admission oath.
Officials, persons of merit and labor innovators put red ties around the necks of those pupils and pinned KCU badges on their chests.
The pupils, who joined the KCU, made the first greetings of the KCU.
Speakers congratulated the pupils on their admission to the KCU and requested them to grow up to be the pillars of the country possessed of ardent patriotism. -0-
