Sadyr Zhaparov held phone conversation with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

Bishkek, Feb. 17, 2026 /Kabar/. On February 17, at the initiative of the Kazakh side, President Sadyr Zhaparov had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Heads of state discussed topical issues of mutual interest in all areas of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations, including the implementation of previously reached agreements in the fields of trade, transport, industrial cooperation, energy and water resources.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed Sadyr Zhaparov about the constitutional reform underway in Kazakhstan, which is the core of the state's long-term development. Sadyr Zhaparov, in turn, expressed his support for large-scale changes in Kazakhstan, including the creation of a unicameral parliament, and wished a successful national referendum.
Heads of state noted the importance of resolving all issues in a spirit of trust, traditional friendship and brotherhood. This will create a reliable basis for the consistent development of multifaceted interaction.
Presidents also exchanged views on domestic political reforms, issues on the regional and international agenda, and at the same time reviewed the schedule of upcoming joint events to be held in a multilateral format.
