Crimes of Japan Seen through History

 Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- Japan has committed countless serious crimes against the Korean people. Still now, it is showing hostility towards the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
The Japanese reactionaries set the officials of Chongryon, who visited their homeland, as the list of forbidden entrance to Japan and pursued other sanctions against Chongryon.
Such Japan's fascist oppression agencies as the Police Agency forcibly searched organizations and schools of Chongryon by mobilizing a number of armed policemen and armored vehicles and assaulted and arrested innocent Korean residents in Japan.
In 2016, they monitored and tried to corrupt the officials of Chongryon and other Korean residents who returned after visiting the DPRK. They gave the local self-governing bodies, in which schools of Chongryon are situated, a notice calling for reconsidering the payment of subsidies for Korean schools and surveyed its execution. In such a crude manner, they raised the level of putting pressure on Chongryon.
Right-wing gangsters of Japan malignantly slandered the measures of the DPRK, taken to bolster up its nuclear deterrent for self-defence, deploying loudspeaker vans around the Chongryon central hall for several days.
They even made an attempt to enter the Chongryon central hall and threatened Korean students on their way to school and attacked a Korean school, destroying its furniture.
Unlike other foreign residents, Koreans in Japan are the victims, who had a hard time after being forcibly taken to Japan during the Japanese imperialists' occupation of Korea, and their descendants. They are persons who deserve an apology and reparation from Japan, and Chongryon is an organization for defending their democratic rights.
In view of the historical circumstances of the organization of Chongryon and the crimes committed by Japan against the Korean people, the Japanese authorities are bound to take legal and moral responsibility for protecting Chongryon and Korean residents and ensuring their activities.
However, Japan as an offender has steadily discriminated and treated with cruelty the victims, far from making an apology and reparation. This is an impudent criminal act that could be made only by the Japanese reactionaries tainted with the anachronistic militarist view on history. -0-
