1,240 PERSONS INFECTED WITH H1N1 VIRUS



Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As of the 31st of December, 2009, a total of 1,240 persons were infected with pandemic (H1N1) virus, 811 or 65.4 percent out of them were recorded in Ulaanbaatar, the remaining 429 persons or 34.5 percent--in 21 aimags.
Out of total recorded pandemic (H1N1) cases, several aimags recorded higher prevalence of pandemic (H1N1), namely 62 persons or 5.0 percent in Uvurkhangai, 36 persons or 2.9 percent in Darkhan-Uul, 35 persons or 2.8 percent in Selenge, 33 persons or 2.7 percent in Orkhon, 28 persons or 2.3 percent in Dornogobi, 27 persons or 2.2 percent in Khovd, 25 persons or 2.0 percent in Gobisumber, 23 persons or 1.9 percent in Zavkhan and Dornod each, 19 persons or 1.5 percent in Dundgobi and Tuv, 17 persons or 1.4 percent in Uvs, and 16 persons or 1.3 percent in Bayan-Ulgii aimag.
Totally, 28 persons died due to H1N1 virus, five of them were pregnant, the National Statistics Commission reported.
