Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ At the beginning of academic school year 2009-2010, a number of students and pupils in educational institutions in all types reached (excluded students studying abroad and pupils studying in schools with evening classes) 841.1 thousand decreasing 20.7 thousand or 2.4 per cent against the previous year.
The share of female students to the total students was 52.1, in kindergartens 50.3, in general educational schools 50.3, in technical and vocational schools 47.0, and in universities and colleges 60.4.
