GERMANY PLEDGES TO HELP PROMOTE MONGOLIAN AGRICULTURE
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Badamjunai is paying a working visit to Germany commencing January 14, 2010.
Mr Badamjunai has met with Gudrun Kopp, Parliamentary State Secretary to the German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development. "Mongolian parliament and government named the agricultural sector as key development sector," Badamjunai announced and proposed closely cooperating with Germany in this sector and promoting development policy collaboration with receiving German aid and assistance. "Mongolia is interested in enhancing its ties with Germany in spheres of agriculture, food manufacturing, animal husbandry, agricultural machine and mechanism and in introducing cooperative system," the Mongolian Minister said.
Ms Kopp said some new changes have been made to the government development policy of Germany and announced that the country will increase its development aid and assistance to Mongolia.
Germany commenced to grant development policy assistance to Mongolia in 1991 and is the biggest donor country for Mongolia in European Union.
Ms Kopp pledged to render assistance in setting up an exemplary German farming in Mongolia, delivering agricultural technique, machine and mechanism as well as in processing and exporting livestock-originated raw materials.
