FRANCE THANKS FOR PRESIDENT'S DECISION

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ A spokesman of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has issued a statement that welcomes thankfully Mongolia's President's decision to abolish the capital punishment in his country.
The statement, released January 18, says France appreciated the announcement made by Mongolia's State Head about cancelling the capital punishment.
"The Republic of France firmly stands against the death penalty, and considers that the announcement made has become a vital step to abolish the punishment in the country. By doing so, Mongolia is joining the countries that have announced about suspending the death penalty or abolished it," the statement says.
