Yemen gives Somalis two months to be registered
SANA'A, Jan. 18 (Saba) - Yemen's National Committee for Refugees Affairs has announced two months for the Somali refugees,
who have not been registered yet, the state-run 26sep.net reported.
During a meeting chaired by the Interior Minister Mutahar al-Masri, the committee's
said that after the two months, several legal procedures would be taken against the
non-registered
Somalis.
The meeting discussed impacts of the illegal immigration on the country's economy
and security due to the open-door policy Yemen adopts.
The committee stressed the importance of checking the African arrivals to identify
those who are illegal immigrants and returning them back to their homes.
It confirmed that the importance of establishing a General Administration for
Refugees Affairs within the Interior Ministry.
