Tehran, Baghdad will stand on each other side: Ahmadinejad
TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (MNA) – Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi met with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday.
Tehran and Baghdad will stand on each other side forever and will defend the rights of each other’s nations in various areas, said Ahmadinejad.
“Preserving unity and integrity of countries in the region is the only sure way to foil enemies’ plans and plots,” he stated.
The Iraqi vice president, for his part, said that Iraq considers the expansion and consolidation of ties with Iran as essential.
“Issues facing the region can not be resolved without the presence of Iran,” he added.
