A'LIAN FIRM TO SIGN INVESTMENT AGREEMENT WITH INDONESIAN PARTNER

Brisbane, June 16 (ANTARA) - Powertrain Solutions from Australia's Northern Territory is expected to sign an investment cooperation agreement with an Indonesian firm during a mining and petroleum exhibition in Balikpapan on June 19-21, an Indonensian official in Darwin said.

"Powertrain Solutions is scheduled to sign an investment cooperation agreement with an Indonesian firm on June 20, 2008," Arvinanto Soeriaatmadja, head of the information section at the Indonesian consulate in Darwin, said on Monday.

But he stopped short of revealing the name of the Indonesian company and the field of cooperation.

"A fact is that an Australian company has for the past few months been operating a direct Darwin-Balikpapan shipping service. The company is Perkins Shipping," he said.

A 37-strong trade and investment mission from Northern Territory is expected to take part in the three-day expo in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
