Russia to start oil supplies to China via Far East pipe in 2011.
KHABAROVSK, January 21 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is expected to start
supplying oil to China via a link to Russia's East Siberia-Pacific Ocean
pipeline in 2011, the press office of the Amur Region government said
Thursday, ITAR-TASS reported.
The pipeline link is expected to connect the town of Skovorodino in
the Amur Region with the Chinese border.
Russia has already finished building a 64-kilometer pipeline link
section on its territory and China is currently building a more than
900-kilometer section on its territory.
Construction of the pipeline link is expected to be completed by
December 2010, the regional government said.
Under an agreement signed by the Russian and Chinese governments in
2009, Russia is to annually export 15 million tonnes of oil to China via
the link for a period of 20 years starting in 2011.
