Suspected militant seized in North Caucasus

CHERKESSK, January 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Law enforcers seized a suspected
militant in the North Caucasus Republic of Karachai-Cherkessia who is
believed to be a member of the gang of warlord Ruslan Khubiyev.
Republican police did not identify the suspected 24-year old militant
seized in Malokarachai district, but said on Thursday law enforcers
confiscated a sawn-off hunting gun and numerous extremist literature from
him.
Warlord Khubiyev and two of his accomplices were killed in December
while resisting arrest. Khubiyev's gang is accused of numerous attacks on
law enforcers in order to destabilize the situation in Karachai-Cherkessia.
