Dubai, June 17, 2008 (WAM) - Over ten thousand visitors from Spain and other countries flocked into the national pavilion of UAE when it opened doors at the Zaragoza International Exhibition 2008 on 'Water and Sustainable Development'.
It is projected that more than eight million visitors will tour the pavilion during the three-month exhibition that showcases the
facets of relationship between water and the mankind.
UAE ambassador to Spain Sultan Mohammed Al Qurtasi said that the exhibition will substantially enhance the friendly relations and partnership between UAE and Spain.
He added that the exhibition will pave way for strengthening relations among all the participating countries. Moreover, the national pavilion of UAE will work as a virtual window on the culture, heritage, development and the lifestyle of UAE, thus attracting a large number of Spanish tourists into the country in the coming years.
The UAE pavilion has been described by the organisers as the most innovative and outstanding among the pavilions of 104 countries participating in the exhibition. The pavilion showcases UAE's efforts and achievements in water conservation, environment protection and alternative energy. The pavilion also demonstrates UAE's pioneering experiment in renewable energy and green cities and works as an eye opener for the rest of the world.
On the first day of the exhibition thousands of visitors queued up in front
