Iranian cinematic news agency launched
TEHRAN, Jan. 22 (MNA) -- The Iranian cinematic news agency was inaugurated on Thursday during a ceremony at the Film Museum of Iran in Tehran.
At the ceremony, Iran's Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari called Iranian cinema afflicted and in need of help rather than criticism.
“In recent months some of the media have inaccurately portrayed Iran’s cinema with their headlines and news, for example attributing a film made by a crew to a single person,” he lamented.
He suggested that the media should not clamor to dig up dirt for there will be good news ahead.
“However we will not give up and will continue our activities. The comments of film critics and filmmakers will be influenced by our decisions,” he said.
The news agency will cover breaking news on films and cineastes as well as film reviews.
