‘Key figures should not be driven off the political stage’: Iran's Parliament speaker

SAVEH, Jan. 22 (MNA) -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has said that key figures should not be driven off the political stage due to minor differences.
Every effort should be made to foster unity in society, and everyone should refrain from divisive actions meant to drive individuals off the political stage, he told worshipers at Friday prayers in Saveh, which is located in Central Province, around 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Tehran.
The parliament speaker added, “Brotherhood should be established among the believers. If this policy is followed, we will not be undermined from inside or outside.”
Larijani advised everyone to follow the Supreme Leader’s guidelines and to make efforts to enhance national cohesion.
He also stated that political figures should clarify their stance toward counter-revolutionaries and those who act against Iran’s national interests because this would be to the benefit of the nation.
On January 19, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei asked the country’s elite to clarify their position toward the enemy.
Transparency is the enemy of the enemies but ambiguity helps the enemy, and this is a criterion for assessing the actions and conduct of all people and political groupings, especially the elite, Ayatollah Khamenei said at a meeting with a number of officials in Tehran.
All political groupings should avoid ambiguous remarks, he added.
When the leaders of the arrogant powers and the occupiers of Muslim countries take a stance toward incidents occurring in the country, it is not acceptable to make ambiguous remarks, he stated.
