First VP to represent Iran at Istanbul conference on Afghanistan
TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) - First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi will represent Iran at a conference on Afghanistan in Istanbul, Turkey.
The neighbors of Afghanistan will meet in Istanbul on Tuesday to study ways on how to end the protracted conflict in the war-torn country.
Iran will also participate in a similar conference to be hosted by Moscow.
For its part, Iran also plans to host a meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors in the next three months.
In line with finding a regional solution to the Afghan crisis the foreign ministers of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan met on January 16 in Istanbul.
The Istanbul meeting comes two day before the London conference which Iran has set conditions for taking part.
