Fajr Intl. Poetry Festival opens in Iran
TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) -- The 4th Fajr International Poetry Festival was inaugurated in Iran’s southern city of Bushehr during a ceremony on Saturday.
A total of 678 poets are participating in the festival with 12,090 entries, the executive secretary of festival, Mostafa Omidi said.
The poems will be judged by two juries who will choose the finalists in the three fields of blank verse, traditional poetry and children’s and young adult’s poetry, he added.
The selected works will be published with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, he said.
The participants will pay a visit to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant to be introduced to “recent nuclear activities in Iran”, festival secretary Ali Hushmand previously stated as part of the public relations for the festival.
The Governor General of Bushehr also invited the participants of the opening ceremony to a dinner banquet on Saturday night.
