Leader most qualified person to resolve problems: Rafsanjani

TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) -- Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here on Saturday that the most qualified person to resolve the current problems is Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Supreme Leader has never endorsed extremism or transgression of the law by any political party, he said at a meeting with the members of the Central Council of the Moderation and Development Party.
In the current political climate, the best way to calm down the situation is for moderate politicians from both camps to cooperate to bridge the differences under the guidance of the Supreme Leader, he observed.
He went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran consolidated its strength through the people’s support and the wise leadership of the late Imam Khomeini, and added that maintaining revolutionary values is everyone’s responsibility.
“If we build a free and prosperous country, which has no superstitious or false beliefs, the international community will back our actions and ideology,” he noted.
He also said that Iran’s Islamic system could be presented as a model for the world.
