Iranian president presents $368b budget bill to parliament

TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad submitted on Sunday the 368 billion dollars national budget bill for the next Iranian year to the Parliament (Majlis) for approval.
Iran’s next years will start on March 21, 2010.
The annual budget bill is 3,680 trillion rials, an equivalent of about 368 billion dollars.
The budget bill shows an increase of 890 trillion rials (89 billion dollars) in comparison to the current year’s budget (March 2009-March 2010).
The next year’s budget has been planned based on an oil price of $60 per barrel.
The president said the next year budget bill is being worked out based on the fifth development plan (2010-2015) with a major focus on agriculture and research studies.
