PRESIDENT ABOUT DISASTERS PREVENTION
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received Monday parliament Speaker D.Demberel, Premier S.Batbold and other officials to have them introduce vital issues of Mongolia's national security.
A manager of the Seismological Section of the Research Center of Astronomy and Geo-physics at the Academy of Sciences M.Olziibat spoke about intensified researches into ways of reducing aftermath and risks of strong earthquakes. Kh.Battulga, a Minister of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, and Ts.Amgalanbayar, a deputy head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), told him about "Earthquake risks of buildings" and "Measures to prevent aftermath of earthquakes, preparedness and readiness for them".
The President emphasized an importance of scientifically-based information about reducing risks, of plans for possible disasters, a unified management of state organizations. He said a recommendation must be issued regarding these matters after it has been discussed by the National Security Council.
The President put forward a proposal to arrange January 22 a meeting to discuss state works targeted at preventing disasters' aftermaths and other harms. The participants are to be the National Security Council, the State Head, the Speaker and the Premier.
