Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company promotes IDEX 2009 at
Abu Dhabi, June 17 (WAM) - As part of its global promotional campaign for IDEX 2009 (International Defence Exhibition '&' Conference), Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) is promoting IDEX 2009 at Eurosatory 2008, 16-20 June 2008, one of Europe's top defence shows which commences today in Paris, France.
The IDEX stand at Eurosatory is located prominently in Hall 6 and will feature architectural renderings of the completed Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi at which IDEX 2009 will be staged from 22nd - 26th February 2009.
The IDEX team from ADNEC will be at the stand to share information on IDEX with exhibitors, media and top military officials who are expected to be among the visitor audience at Eurosatory.
IDEX is one the world's largest defence exhibitions and the 9th edition of the show will be organised by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) in association with the UAE Armed Forces GHQ at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Ma'arid).
IDEX 2009 will take place under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

Mohamed Al Mashgouni, IDEX 2009 Director said: "Our global promotional campaign has been very successful with ninety-five per cent of exhibit space at IDEX already booked by international, regional and local companies operating in the defence and related sectors. Among the top international defence firms who have confirmed participation at IDEX 2009 are Thales, Sagem, Boeing, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Kamas Incorporated and Denel.
Several exhibitors from the Middle East region including King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) from Jordan and Advanced Electronics Company from Saudi Arabia are also participating.
Top UAE exhibitors are Mubadala, CARACAL, Offset Group, Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), International Golden Group (IGG), Al Masaood, Bin Jabr and AIS.
During IDEX, more than 900 exhibitors from over 50 countries are set to occupy all 12 halls of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre's 55,000-square metre venue. Over 30 national pavilions, high profile defence and security personnel and over a hundred military delegations from the Middle East region and around the world will take part at this key defence industry event.
The Gulf Defence Conference, organised by Jane's Information Group will be held alongside the exhibition.
The previous edition of IDEX in 2007 featured 862 exhibitors, 143 official delegations from 50 countries, 27 national pavilions, and attracted 29 mobility displays from 10 countries. Contracts worth more than US $ 545 million were announced at the show including US$ 380 million worth of deals signed by the UAE Armed Forces.
Nearly one thousand media personnel attended IDEX 2007.
