Iran-Oman trade volume to rise

MUSCAT, Jan. 25 (MNA) – The Iranian deputy commerce minister said Iran and Oman trade volume will increase in the near future.
The Mehr News Agency reported on Monday that on the sidelines of inaugurating the third Iranian specialized exhibition in Oman, Babak Afqahi reiterated that Oman is a good neighbor, friend and brother of Iran.
He added that Iran is willing to expand economic and political relations with this country to the highest levels, and added that fortunately fine political interactions are taking place between the two countries.
Afqahi said the fair will help increase trade between the two, and added that 40 Iranian firms in the field of technical and engineering services, cement, construction material, foodstuff including saffron, home appliances and carpets have participated in the show.
He said that the Omani businesspersons have shown up with excellent interest in the event.
Currently $250 million worth of non-oil trade and $250 million worth of technical and engineering services go on between the two countries annually, he stated.
