Georgia PM to visit Armenia to discuss econ coop'n.

YEREVAN, January 26 (Itar-Tass) - Prime Minister Nika Gilauri of
Georgia arrives here on Tuesday for a brief visit to take part in the 8th
session of the Intergovernmental commission (IGC) for economic cooperation
between Armenia and Georgia.

The Georgian Head of State together with his Armenian counterpart
Tigran Sarkisyan co-chairs the IGC. He is to meet with Armenian President
Serge Sargsyan, a government press service official has told Itar-Tass.
An annual report made public by Armenia's Foreign Ministry here on
Monday said, "Armenia-Georgia cooperation is aimed at strengthening
goodneighbourly relations between Armenian and Georgian peoples still
further, and at ensuring an unimpeded travel by the citizens of Armenia,
the transportation of freight across Georgia's territory, and the transit
of natural gas which is supplied to Armenia, and at further developing and
deepening economic relations" between the two neighbouring republics.
Last year, "work was continued to build a second automobile bridge at
the border point of Bagratashen, to streamline customs formalities for
passengers and the handling of goods, to complete the reconstruction of
the Yerevan-Gyumri-Akhalkalaki-Batumi motor road, and to build a third
high-voltage power transmission line," the annual report said.
Cooperation with Georgian authorities will be carried on to resolve
the educational and cultural problems of the Armenian community in that
country, an Armenian Foreign Ministry official pointed out.
