Persian Gulf conference in Tehran winds up
Tehran, June 18, IRNA - The 18th International Conference on the 'Persian Gulf' wound up here Tuesday.
The international event was attended by some 53 experts,
intellectuals, lawyers as well as political officials from various
countries.
At the end of the two-day international conference, the participants
issued a statement.
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki delivered a keynote speech on the second day of the conference.
Various topics as expansion of cooperation, stability and regional
security were discussed at the conference.
Intellectuals, experts, lawyers and political officials from Jordan,
Uzbekistan, South Africa, Germany, Ukraine, US, Italy, Bahrain, China, Russia, Japan, Serbia, Iraq, Oman, France, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Poland, Lebanon, Malaysia, Egypt, India, Greece and the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed the views on the topics discussed.
Other issues brought up at the conference were ways of dealing with
existing challenges and threats in the region, expansion of economic
and commercial cooperation, regional convergence, stability in Iraq,
stability in the region and the role of media in promoting regional
cooperation. - End.
