PRIVATIZATION ISSUES DISCUSSED
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ MPRP and DP factions at parliament held meetings to discuss draft guidelines for privatization of state properties.
According to a head of the DP faction Ch.Saikhanbileg, they decided to alter a government's proposal on classifying strategic deposits and infrastructures under the authority of one company to raise funds on the international stock market. The faction also backed a proposal on discharging two vice-presidents of the Central Bank of Mongolia.
Ch.Saikhanbileg went on saying the faction members came to terms with excluding the "Erdenet" mining corporation from a list of entities to be privatized, since it generates the largest part of the Human Development Fund.
According to MPRP faction head D.Lundeejantsan, the faction discussed possibilities for creating financial sources through establishing entities and issuing shares of a number of companies. A version was forwarded on deriving funds from the exploitation of strategic deposits for the Human Development Fund in order to set up a joint-stock company which will gradually undergo the privation in the future. The privatization must run in the interests of economic security and Mongolian people, the faction claims.
An issue on the privatization of the MIAT airlines could gain a support on the part of MPRP faction members. It must be reviewed deliberately, Lundeejantsan said.
