RF, Vietnam mark 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

MOSCOW, January 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin and his Vietnamese counterpart Ngu Yen Tan Zung have exchanged
messages of congratulation on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between the two sates, the press
service of the Russian government reported on Saturday.

The message of Vladimir Putin says in particular:
"The Russian and Vietnamese peoples are connected by ties of close
sincere friendship tested by time and the joint struggle for independence
and sovereignty of Vietnam. Our brotherhood in arms is immortalized in the
memorial complex that was recently unveiled in Cam Ranh.
"I note with pleasure that Russian-Vietnamese cooperation has been
successfully developing in all fields - - in political, trade and
economic, scientific and technical and cultural. The point at issue is
really strategic partnership, and we are ready to undertake the most
active efforts for its further filling with useful mutually advantageous
initiatives and projects.
"I am sure that building up of interaction of Russia and Vietnam meets
fundamental interests of the peoples of our countries, promotes ensuring
of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region," the message of the
Russian prime minister says.
