Iran's Judiciary urges coordinated campaign against economic corruption

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani has called on the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the government to take coordinated steps to fight economic corruption.
The three branches of government should cooperate to fight economic corruption far from political disputes, the judiciary chief said Saturday.
Through this the system will win the public trust and guarantee investment safety in the country, he noted.
Larijani pointed out that some irregularities have occurred in the banking system, saying that some banking services have been done without proper supervision.
He said that all outstanding loan defaults should be examined legally and speedily.
Larijani also warned against the alarming rate at which bank checks bounce in the country, saying that this trend will impede investment and could damage national economy.
The judiciary chief praised the efforts made to curb money laundering and said the relevant cases should be dealt with immediately.
