WOMAN CAUGHT KEEP METH IN UNDERWEAR

Jakarta, Jan 30 (ANTARA) - A customs officer in Dumai, Riau, has held a woman for carrying 175 grams of meth in her underpants.

The spokesman of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Evi Suhartantyo, said here on Saturday the meth was packaged in seven packets each containing 25 grams.

"The suspect known by her initial as MBS from Bukit Tinggi was caught at a ferry terminal in Dumai," Evi said.

She said two of the seven packets were kept in her bra while five others in her underpants.

On January 23 a customs officer in Bali meanwhile had arrested a French national known by his initial as FB carrying heroin.

FB arrived aboard Air Asia FA-3677 from Bangkok, Thailand. "The officer secured the suspect and 0.5 heroin and two syringes as evidence," Evi said.

Cutoms officers in Binjai, North Sumatra, on January 23 meanwhile raided an illegal alcoholic drinks plant and confiscated 251 boxes containing 6,210 bottles of alcoholic drinks of various fake trademarks.

They also secured 12 drums each containing 180 litters of alcoholic drinks and 600 bags of empty bottles, five units of bottle lid equipment, five mixing tanks, 400 sets of packaging paper and two boxes of labels.

The loss suffered by the state due to the illegal activity is estimated at around Rp100 million, Evi said.
