Iran's Road Ministry to inaugurate multi-billion-dollar projects

TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (MNA) – Roads and Transportation Ministry is to put 2,359 projects into operation during the Ten-Day Dawn (Bahman 12-Bahman 22, falling on February 1-February 11).
The ten-day dawn starts with the date marking the historic arrival of Imam Khomeini in the country after 15 years in exile in 1979 until the final victory of the Islamic Republic ten days later.
2,162 projects in road transportation sector worth around $2.175 billion, 121 projects in rail transportation sector valued at $1.25 billion plus 128.5 million euros are to be inaugurated, Roads and Transportation Minister Hamid Behbahani told the MNA.
Behbahani also noted that 32 projects in air transportation and aviation sectors worth some $300 million will come on stream during the Ten-Day Dawn.
The projects include building highways, arteries and rural roads, establishing railroads, renovating railway stations, improving flight control systems, and launching meteorological stations.
