JAKARTA STOCKS TRADE 1.08 PERCENT LOWER



Jakarta, Feb. 1 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here on Monday morning closed 1.08 percent lower on profit taking moves.

The BEI index traded 28.254 points lower to 2,582.542, and the LQ45 index fell 6.459 points or 1,27 percent to 503.988.

Losses at regional bourses also affected the Indonesian Stock Exchange, according to Alfiansyah, foreign exchange analyst of PT Sinarmas Securities.

At regional markets, Hong Kong's Hangseng index weakened 109.890 points or 0.55 percent to 20,012.099, and Singapore's Straits Times index declined 8.360 points or 0.30 percent to 2,736.990.

At the BEI morning trading session, 120 stocks lost, 42 advanced and 56 remained static, while 230 were not actively traded.

Among top losers at the BEI were Bumi Resources shares that lost Rp50 to Rp2,425, Adaro Energy shares that fell Rp40 to Rp1,850, Bank Mandiri shares that declined Rp25 to Rp4,650, Bank BRI shares that plunged Rp50 to Rp7,600 and Astra International shares that went down Rp750 to Rp35,200.

There were 28,543 times of transactions involving 1.108 billion shares worth Rp1.045 trillion.

Meanwhile, the rupiah traded Rp9,335-Rp9,345 per US dollar, down 15 points from Rp9,320-Rp9,330 per US dollar at the market's close over last weekend.
