Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Mongolian wrestlers won medals in the Golden Grand Prix competitions of the FILA (International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles) for free-style wrestling named after Ivan Yarygin, twice Olympic champion and World champion. The events took place January 29-31 in Russian Krasnoyarsk city bringing together 250 male and female wrestlers from 22 countries.
Mongolia was represented by State Honored Sportsman B.Naranbaatar; O.Burmaa, a silver medalist of the World Championship; B.Odonchimeg, a bronze medalist of the World Championships and other top wrestlers. Of them, an international master of sports B.Odonchimeg won a silver medal in the women's 67 kg weight category; bronze medals gained by B.Oyunsuren--a bronze medal in the women's 67 kg, N.Altantuya (women's 55 kg) and G.Naranchimeg (women's 72 kg). The men's team of ten wrestlers did not any medals.
The Mongolian wrestlers were coached by Z.Duvchin, T.Sukhbaatar and B.Batbayar.

The International Judo Federation released the first rankings of this year's world top judo wrestlers on January 28. From Mongolia, 25 male and 22 female judoists are listed there.
A State Honored Sportsman and World champion Kh.Tsagaanbaatar leads the men in 66 kg's weight category by 1,140 points. He is followed by Alim Gadanov (Russia), Sugoi Uriarte (Spain) and Miklos Ungvari. A judoist of Mongolia, gold medalist of the World Masters S.Miaragchaa is ranked 5th place having 672 points.

National judo team has left for European countries to take part in the Judo Gran Prix scheduled February 6-7 in Paris, France, and in serial competitions of Europe. The team comprises G.Boldbaatar (men's 60 kg), D.Tomorkhuleg (men's 60 kg), Kh.Tsagaanbaatar (men's 66 kg), S.Miaragchaa (men's 66 kg), O.Uuganbaatar (men's 81 kg), B.Temuulen (men's -100 kg) and an Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar (+100 kg).
After the Grand Prix of Paris, the Mongolians will attend World Cup to run February 13-14 in Vienna, Austria, the Grand Prix February 20-21 in Dusseldorf, Germany and in World Cup February 27-28 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The state junior championships have started in the Central Palace of Sports. These competitions are being attended by some 1,000 young judoists from 41 organizations and clubs.
