PRESIDENT DISCUSSES IMPLEMENTATION OF MEDIUM-TERM DEVELOPMENT PLAN



Cipanas, Cianjur, Feb. (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono chaired a meeting with governors and ministers at Cipanas Palace here on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2010-2014.

"The working meeting has three topics on the agenda. First, we will present what we have achieved in the first 100 days of the ministers' development programs," he said at the meeting.

Second, there would be an explanation on RPJMN 2010-2014 so that the objectives, agenda and the next five year programs can be understood well.

"It's also important that why governors are present and actively involved in discussions of special issues that we have been facing so far, which could be considered as a source of the problems. We hope to produce the right solution," he said.

On Tuesday, Vice President Boediono and the chairman of the Presidential Working Unit, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, would present an evaluation of the first-100-days programs.
National Development Planning Minister/Chairman of the National Development Plan (Bappenas) Armida Alisjahbana would talk about the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). Six working groups will also be set up on the occasion.

The working groups would discuss climate change, defense, licensing and sectoral regulation synchronization, food (upstream-downstream), energy, infrastructure, pro-people programs, bureaucratic reform, security, democracy, and law enforcement.

On Wednesday, the meeting's second day, the working groups consisting of ministers, governors and state enterprise chiefs, would begin to draft programs in line with their respective fields.
After being discussed at a plenary meeting, President Yudhoyono would officially launch the RPJMN 2010-2014.

The sessions on the evaluation of the government's first 100 days and discussions on Tuesday were held in closed-door meetings.
