POLICE NAB TWO IRANIAN MEN, SEIZE SYABU WORTH US41, 025
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 (Bernama) -- Police arrested two Iranian men, believed to be drug traffickers, and seized 363gm of syabu, worth almost RM140,000 (about US$41,025) in a raid on a hotel room, here last Saturday.

Chiang said during the raid, the suspects, aged 24 and 30, were waiting for a
customer.
"After a search on their luggage, we found a plastic bag containing the
drugs, weighing 363gm, and worth about RM140,000.
"We also found small packets containing capsules, which were believed to
have been filled with the drugs before they were swallowed by the suspects," he
told reporters, here Tuesday.
He said initial investigation found that the suspects had swallowed the
capsules to deceive the authority at the airport in their bid to smuggle the
drugs into the country.
Kang said the capsules were later taken out of their stomach, through
medication, for reprocessing and distribution purposes.
Based on investigation, he said the customers comprised mostly individuals
from Iran and police were investigating whether these individuals were also drug
pushers.
Both suspects had been remanded for five days to facilitate in the
investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a
mandatory death penalty, upon conviction.
Meanwhile, he said four men and two teenage girls, believed to be drug
addicts, were nabbed in two raids in Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman, Kampung Baru,
here Monday.
Kang said in the first raid at 5pm, police arrested a man, 43, who was
waiting for a customer in a restaurant in the area.
A compressed ganja slab, weighing 943gm and a small packet of the same drug,
weighing seven grams, worth a total of RM2,400 (about US$703) were seized from
the man, he
said.
Kang said about half an hour later, two men, aged 21 and 45, together with
the two girls, aged 18, were arrested in a room in the same area.
Police also seized three packets of ganja, weighing 16gm from the girls, he
said.
Another man, 35, was also nabbed while having his fix in the area.
All suspects were tested positive for drugs and had been remanded until Feb
8 to facilitate investigation.
