MERAH PUTIH 2 COSTS RP10 BILLION TO MAKE
Jakarta, Feb 3 (ANTARA) - The movie picture "Merah Putih 2" subtitled "Darah Garuda" (blood of Garuda) which will be screened throughout the country in September 2010, had cost Rp10 billion to produce, its director Yadi Sugandi said here Wednesday.
Yadi said the making and shooting of the film was carried out in three different locations, in Sukabumi, Pangandaran beach, and Kepulauan Seribu.
"The shooting took 28 consecutive days and production 35 days," he said.
He also said that actually the shooting of Merah Putih 2 has partly already been done in the shooting of Merah Putih 1 last year.
He added that the Rp10 billion had been spent on building a kind of Dutch airport which would be blown up.
The money was also used for building an airplane replica, purchase of explosives and fees of the players and crew.
He also said he did not think of a profit or return of what had been spent.
"The producers merely wish the film success in conveying the moral message on the struggle of the freedom fighters," he said.
The actors and acrresses include Darius Sinathrya, Teuku Rifnu Wikana, Lukman Sardi, Doni Alamsyah, Zumi Zola, and Saraswati.
Make-up and visual effects were by Rob Trenton (The Dark Knight), arms expert consultant John Bowring (Crocodile Dundee II, The Matrix, The Thin Red Line, Australia, X-Men Origins:Wolverine) and Assistant Director Mark Knight (December Boys, Beautiful).***
