Kazakhstan plans to boost by 30 pc its GDP by 2020.

ASTANA, February 4 (Itar-Tass) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree on approving the republican Strategic Development Plan till 2020, providing for boosting the GDP "by at least a third as against 2009 in real terms".

The president's office is charged with control over the decree's
implementation. The Kazakh government is instructed to submit annually
monitoring results of the plan's implementation by July 1.
Comments, published by the local mass media, by Prime Minister Karim
Masimov on the decree, stresses that the state's efforts would be centred
also on such spheres as preparation for the post-crisis development,
accelerated diversification of the economy as well as "insurance of
inter-racial accord, security and stability of international relations".
The premier calls attention to a premise that under the Strategic
Plan, the share of non-commodity export in the total volume of foreign
trade will rise by 45 percent by 2020, and labour productivity in the
processing industry will double.
By 2015, the export potential of agriculture will rise from four to
eight percent, while Kazakh building materials will be responsible for 80
percent of domestic consumption of the construction industry. National oil
refineries will fully meet the country's requirements for fuel.
"Inflation will average 5-8 percent over the ten-year period, while
assets of the National Fund will amount to at least 30 percent to the GDP
by 2020 or will hit 90 billion US dollars," the comments note.
Kazakhstan plans to increase the length of life from 68 to 72 by 2020.
